Trouble

Today's post is a summary for my most anticipated album of this year Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur's debut album 'Trouble' the only way to purchase it in Canada at the moment is through Universal Music UK and getting the album shipped to you so for now I went out and did ze evil deed and torrented as I wait for my copy which i'll link at the bottom. First off I want to say this album completely lived up to the hype for me, my last album summary I posted only a few of the songs but I've decided I'll post all of them this time and just do a run down of each song.

The first track off the album is rather unique almost sounding like electronic South American folk music (Yes I just described it that way) I absolutely love it though perfect mixture of chill/dance vibe

A previous single, this may be my least favourite tune on the album but it's still rather good, give it a listen

Love the spacey synths of this song very SBTRKT-esque

This one has been out for a while but it's an absolute banger of a track...

Favourite song on the album, I can see this being a big hit on da dancefloor come this summer

One of the more downtempo chill songs on the album, I remember Orlando (TEED) playing an acoustic version of this in an interview I'd like to hear a full version of that.

Split personality song splitting between Deep House and somewhat of a Phil Collins like breakdown from Orlando

Another one that has been out for a very long time, you have to love this track though, it really shows that electronic music can be just as peaceful and serene as folk/more acoustic style tracks

This one is going to be a hit at Ibiza, some good ole house music

Incredible track, I still think I like this better without Orlando singing over it so i'm going to go hunt down the instrumental

Posted this on da blog not too long ago , upbeaty/electro goodness

Just to remind us he's from England he's given us a garage/deep house track and it doesn't disappoint

Very Memoryhouse/Animal Collective like song it really shows you how diverse Orlando can be with making music, one of my favourites

Final song on the album , its catchiness will leave this tune engraved in your brain for weeks

That concludes by far my longest post but please go out and buy this album to support Orlando Higginbottom's future musical projects:

Your End Of Weekend Tunes Vol.16

Hopefully everyones long weekend was awesome and here's some music for you all to recover to. First song up is a remix from Crystal Fighters that I found scrounging the Spanish band's Soundcloud. The two bangers this week are from Russ Chimes and MJ Cole, Russ remixing Cassius and MJ remixing TEED. The Russ Chimes remix is absolutely incredible but at 1:25 in length this was never actually released but nonetheless that minute twenty five is incredible. My favourite new TEED song also received remix treatment from garage producer MJ Cole and it is another solid electro tune. To relax to this week i've got Jessie Ware's new single produced by Julio Bashmore and the most chill drum and bass remix you will ever here from Calibre. The last tune is from Mr.Little Jeans with an incredible take on Arcade Fire's song "The Suburbs" enjoy..

I Love U So (Russ Chimes Remix) - Cassius

110% - Jessie Ware

Garden (Calibre Remix) - Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

The Suburbs (Arcade Fire Cover) - Mr.Little Jeans

Your End of Weekend Tunes Vol.6

Sorry about the loafting for the past couple weeks I've been away quite a bit so I haven't had a tonne of time to make posts but i'll make up for it with a awesome post right here. Once again we welcome back TEED, a mainstay on our blog with a new single "Tapes and Money" and a banger remix of Crystal Fighters "Xtatic Truth". Seattle Hip Hop Collective Shabazz Palaces take the lone hip hop spot for the week with a grand 'ole tune off their latest album "Black Up". Last two are songs from one of my favourite bands Cut Copy (remixing Death Cab) and a Melé remix of Disclosure's latest single, a melodic tune with dubstep like drums, enjoy..

Are you...Can you... Were you? (Felt) - Shabazz Palaces

Door's Unlocked and Open (Cut Copy Remix) - Death Cab for Cutie

Xtatic Truth (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Remix) - Crystal Fighters

Your End of Weekend Tunes Vol.4

This week our feature tune is a new one from Miike Snow who has previewed two tracks from their new album including "Paddling Out" a very catchy tune indeed. Their new album "Happy to You" will be dropping in March, the first album from them since their self titled album in 2009. Another track that i've been jamming to is "Mayor" from Mount Kimbie, i recommend you go cop their album Crooks & Lovers as it is absolutely awesome. On top of that we have two laidback tunes from Evenings and Small Black and then a old personal favourite from our beloved TEED. Enjoy:

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

In this day and age it can be tough to find producers who are both original and innovative but also make music that is enjoyable. One that sticks out in particular to me is Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED for short), what really caught my eye was this recent mini - doc:

After listening to the majority of TEED's songs/remixes I decided that he is probably one of the most versatile dance producers I have listened to in recent memory.

Garden, one of their singles, was the first track I heard from TEED a while back without knowledge of who they were I assumed they were an electronically influenced Indie band but boy was I impressed. Household Goods was the next song I heard (another single) and I was shocked, it was an absolute electro banger, something you'd hear Swedish House Mafia drop, with an indie twist. That One is a trance jingle added in with Orlando's own vocal loops and lots of 80's synthlike sounds. Dream On, a free track on their Facebook page (go like the page and cop it for free) once again shows Orlando's obsession with those trance synths, this is a great somewhat mellow track. The last track I wanted to share was TEED's remix of Lies by Fenech Soler, an already dope track made even doper, I do not know how he does it.
