EOWT Vol.26

It's been a while since and End Of Weekend Tunes (Now just EOWT) so this one is packed full of music. First song is some new Toro from his upcoming LP, after that I broke down the post by genre in a way. Ducktails is the side project of Real Estate guitarist Matthew Mondanile which oozes cassette style dream rock as you can tell from the song 'Art Vandelay'. Next up is my absolute favourite song right now from another side project, this time from Andy Hull of Manchester Orchestra. The entire concept for this side project is absolutely innovative, telling the story of a 17th century sailor who catches his wife cheating on him with his brother. One of the albums i'm anticipating the most is the debut one from Gypsy and The Cat which comes out this Friday, 'Bloom' is their first single that is upbeat and awesome. Next up continuing with the diversity of got two hip hop songs, one from Main Attrakionz and the other from A.Dd+ (who spits over a sample of Toxic by Britney Spears). I've also tossed in some dreamy tracks from John Talabot and Tropics (Kelpe on the remix duties), enjoy...

Zodiac

Toronto's very own Zodiac (born in Halifax though) just released an EP not too long ago, you may recognize his sound as he made The Weeknd's original beats (and his best ones in my opinon). He basically got screwed over by The Weeknd who refused to pay him for his beats and then went and made a killing with Drake's OVO crew. Zodiac produced "The Party", "The Morning", "What You Need", and "Loft Music" (which happen to be the only 4 songs I like by The Weeknd). Anyways he's just released an awesome EP and hopefully he'll start getting the credit he finally deserves, enjoy...

End Of Weekend Tunes Vol.25

Spotlight of this week for me was mainly Ed Banger disco stalwart Breakbot's debut album 'By Your Side', I highly recommend going out and getting the full thing but I've posted two of my favourite and freshest tunes from the album (a lot of the songs are previous singles). I've got some new garage from Chilean producer Daniel Klauser off his EP 'Beautiful'. Keep an eye out for Daniel Klauser as he's been opening for Machinedrum on his most recent tour. My favourite two tunes of this week come from remixes by Four Tet and Ambassadeurs who are both as always turning original tracks into absolute magic. Future Classic Records standout Anne Lunoe also teams up with Touch Sensitive for a groovy house track that may be more suited for Pre-Weekend bangers. Last tune is from mystery rapper Captain Murphy who has been collaborating with the likes of Flying Lotus and Earl Sweatshirt, there has been speculation it may be Tyler the Creator with vocal effects although through Captain Murphy's twitter he claims he's 'just Captain Murphy', enjoy....

It's been nearly two months since a EOW tunes, whoops. Anyhow I'll make it up to you with this stellar post kicking things off with a brand new tune from possibly WIG's favourite current artist, the London bred teen producing duo Disclosure. With an up coming show in Toronto October 26th at Wrongbar make sure you grip yourself some tickets. Next up I've got a new track from C2C, the funkier/discoey brother of Birdy Nam Nam (also a DJ quartet) so keep an eye out for them and their new album Tetra. Some new Lenno/Casey Veggies/and Duke Dumont as well as a track from mysterious Indie band Sr.Sly (rumoured to include members of Foster The People), enjoy..
